Working with professional Aberdeen photographers might turn out to be the last thing that you want to do and you are probably dreading the moment wherein you will have to pose right in front of the camera and get scrutinized from behind the lens. What you technically need is a posing guide that will more or less give you a bit of an idea about how you will be able to maximize your time with the portrait photographers that you will end up working with for the portrait photo shoot at the end of the day.
Posing is actually something that is fairly simple and easy enough to pull off for as long as you know what the basics are. Over time and further in during the portrait photo shoot, your portrait photographers will start to give you tips and coach you as well on how to pose but then again, it would be so much cooler if you already know what to do to begin with. It will help make you feel more confident and in control as a client and as a subject.
Leave some visual space around the torso.
Or at least make sure that that area is cleared as much as possible so that you have a waist that looks far slimmer and so much more streamlined. If you have your arms up, make sure that you at least bring it a little bit forward and give your waist some space. When there is nothing obstructing your waistline, it gives it that visual illusion that it is somehow elongated and slimmer. And well, whether you would like to admit it or not, everyone would like to appear slimmer at some point or so if it is possible. Pull this off and see how it works wonders for your waist in the portrait shots that your Aberdeen photographer is able to produce.
Don’t go ahead and stare or face the camera full on.
This is bound to make you look one dimensional and so much bigger than you really are. One cool way to trick the camera is to turn your shoulders slightly sideways. Facing the camera full on might be great for people who are trying to appear big and powerful in the shots but for beauty shots, it might not turn out to be such a good idea and you must try to turn your shoulders to the side, even for just a little bit instead. You will be surprised at how something as simple as this could turn your portrait shots around and your photographer from Aberdeen don’t even have to work too hard in making sure that you look good in the photos.
Control your eyeline as much as possible.
The last thing that you would want to have would be to see pictures of yourself with most of the whites of your eyes visible. It does not come out great in the shots. Focus on something and make sure that most of your pupils are visible in the shots instead.
